Rajasthan Royals IPL Journey – Start with a bang
The RR (Full form: Rajasthan Royals) squad that Shane Warne captained in 2008 started with a strong start. Rajasthan Royals overcame all odds and expectations to win the first-ever season of the competition and claim the title of champions.

IPL 2013 was the year that finally broke through for Rajasthan Royals as a dominant force. They advanced to the post-season playoffs. Even though they were defeated by Mumbai Indians in the second qualifying round, they were able to come back and win the eliminator match against the favorites, Sunrisers Hyderabad. The team’s overall performance was good enough and made them reach third place.
Despite their setback in 2014, Rajasthan Royals bounced back in 2015 to reach the playoffs and finish in the top four. They were able to win seven games and lose only five, with two of their losses being considered washouts, which led to them finishing in fourth place on the points table. Unfortunately for them, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated them in the Eliminator match.
Exclusion from the IPL season
Along with Chennai Super Kings, the Rajasthan Royals were given a two-year (2016 & 2017) exclusion from the Indian Premier League. Three players from RR (Full form: Rajasthan Royals) were found trying to manipulate the game, and both sides were engaged in illicit betting practices.
